Filippinos run naked in protest against Duterte’s drug war

A Philippine college fraternity held its annual naked run in a Manila university to protest against President Rodrigo Duterte’s bloody drug war and martial law.

Alpha Phi Omega fraternity first held its naked run during the rule of late dictator Ferdinand Marcos in the 1980s to protest the censorship and crackdown on activists in the University of the Philippines.

Fraternity spokesman Thomas Roca said his brothers were running naked to draw attention to Duterte’s “looming dictatorship” amid the thousands of alleged extrajudicial killings under his drug war and the ongoing martial law in the south despite the liberation of Marawi from Islamists more than a month ago.
