Residents warned to be ready to evacuate as Lilac fire rages

A wildfire north of San Diego called the Lilac Fire, was Fanned by gusting winds and grew from 10 acres to 2,500 acres in just a few hours.

California’s state’s department of Forestry and Fire Protection says the fire destroyed 20 structures and prompted evacuations and road closures. Propane tanks under several houses exploded from the heat, sounding like bombs.
The Governor, Jerry Brown, declared a state of emergency for San Diego County.

Gusty winds and extremely low humidity are set to continue and the Fire protection service has urged residents to be prepared to evacuate at short notice.
