Kleveland and Somaini win Snowboard Big Air Wold Cup
Marcus Kleveland of Norway and Switzerland’s Carla Somaini were the winners of the third round of the FIS Snowboard Big Air World Cup season held in Moenchengladbach.
In front of a crowd of 16,000, 18-year-old Kleveland gained his first World Cup points of the season with a backside 1440 stalefish and cab 1440 melon for a total score of 191.75.
Reigning junior world champion Yuri Okubo of Japan took second place with a score of 168.50 for the first World Cup podium of his career as it was for third-placed Kalle Jarvilehto of Finland who scored 164.50.
The Big Air World Cup continues with the season’s penultimate event in Copper Mountain, Colorado, United States on December 10.
